We set no cookies. Hence no banner.
This page exists so you can check that claim rather than take it. Open your browser's storage inspector on any page of this site — you should find one entry, and it is not ours.
The complete list

__cf_bm | Cloudflare, our host | Tells a browser apart from a bot, so the site stays up during a scraping run | 30 minutes |
That is the table. It has one row and we would rather it had none, but the alternative is letting a scraper take the site down on a Saturday morning, which is the morning that matters.
What we deliberately do not use
- No Google Analytics. Page views are counted by Plausible, which is cookieless and stores nothing that identifies you. We can see that
/homeswas viewed 400 times from the US yesterday. We cannot see that you were one of them. - No advertising pixels. No Meta pixel, no Google Ads tag, no LinkedIn Insight, no TikTok. We do not retarget people who looked at a house, because being followed around the internet by a kitchen you did not buy is a miserable experience.
- No session recording. Nobody is watching a replay of your mouse.
- No A/B testing cookie, no consent-management platform, and therefore no banner asking you to consent to the consent manager.
What the calculators store
Nothing. Not in a cookie, not in local storage, not on a server. Type a rent, a house price and your savings into the rent-versus-buy tool, close the tab, and the numbers are gone. Reload the page and you start again — that is the cost of the promise, and we think it is the right trade.
Getting rid of the one there is
Every browser has a “clear cookies for this site” control, usually behind the padlock in the address bar. Blocking third-party cookies entirely will not break anything here, because we do not use any. Neither will a strict-mode content blocker.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control headers are honoured, which is easy for us because there is nothing to switch off.
If this page ever gets longer
Then something changed, and the date at the top will have changed with it. If we ever need a cookie that is not strictly necessary, you will get a real choice before it is set, and “reject” will be one click and the same size as “accept”.
